Napa weekend
We had a great time in Napa this past weekend, when Robert and Margrit Mondavi invited us to dinner on Wappo Hill, for a good time and to taste their new, "Continuum". www.continuumwine.com
After the Dining Program, we dashed home for a snack, and then drove up to Napa. This weekend, spent with Dr Dean & Sharon Edell, Heather Hamann, Robert Moon & Joel Riddell began with some wicked weather reports. As the arcs were being built, I worried the little city car would not make it- also finding Wappo Hill on a dark and story night is impossible- it is nearly impossible to find in the daylight! I decided we needed a new car, and Frank Sheets of R.A.B. Motors suggested I drive an "R"Series. This car, a Crossover Vehicle with major comfort and style, is the perfect mode of transport, for a sunny day- or a dark and stormy night. The Mercedes Benz- R Class, is large enough to carry 7 adults- we had 6 in comfort. *third row seating, complete interior climate control with all of the gadgets, Automatic rain sensing Windshield Wipers and enormous moon-roofs.

We stayed at the Napa River Inn Located in the Historic Napa Mill- a newly renovated location with Angel Restaurant, Sweetie Pies, The Napa General Store, the Vintage Sweet Shop, M.J. Schrader Fine Art Gallery, Amelia’s Gifts and the Lavender Company. –

After Checking in, having a coffee and a woppie-pie from Sweetiepies (owned by Toni Chiappetta) .www.sweetiepies.com located on the Napa Mill property, we changed and readied for dinner.
Dinner with Robert and Margrit Mondavi on Wappo Hill.

- Leak and Celery root soup with sourdough bread
- Rosemary braised Saddle of Rabbit, with Polenta Purple Carrots, and Endive Salad

More Laughter and fun, with an early 10am breakfast at Sweetiepies left us happy for our time.
Sunday – a slow and rainy drive back to San Francisco, gazing out the enormous sunroof, watching the rain.
